Rainbow of Remembrance
Hey i’m just hoping to get re-blogged multiple times…but this is a really good cause if you’re on facebook and if you’re not then here’s the info, but if you are You can just click the link, I assure you it’s a good cause and a great memorial-type event, thank you for your time:
So I made this event last year as a sort of branch event to the “wear purple in mourning of the gay teen suicide” page, and I don’t want that day of wearing purple to end. It stood for a good cause and still does, the epidemic of teen suicide, lgbt and straight, is still going on, no matter the severity, I think it’s important we are all aware of these horrific occurrences, and still observe the purple day in remembrance of the people who have taken their own lives in result of bullying, harassment, and general social exclusion. This day was not meant to mourn just the many boys who took their lives last year, though those occurrences were what made the event take off, it was to remember all the gay teens who have committed suicide. It is my belief that though gay suicide is an increasing problem, other lgbtq suicides and heterosexual suicides should not be ignored. Please help me continue this event. I thank all of you who took the time to visit this event.Oct 15 Red: Life

If you didn’t participate in this event last year, you wear a color on a corresponding day(this can be some sort of clothing or an accessory like a bandanna,tie, etc ), (the 15th is Red, the 16th is orange, etc) and it’s in the order of the LGBTQ flag(and the color spectrum sans indigo), if you do not support the LGBTQ community, but still wish to remember those who have committed suicide, can do solely the purple if that’s what they prefer. Each color symbolizes something different on the flag and purple symbolizes spirit, which is why it was originally chosen for the events color.
